How could I persuade my dad to let me go on this one vacation

How could I persuade my dad to let me go on this one vacation?
My school is going on a trip to Europe next year. I REALLY want to go. They are going to Austria, Liechtenstein, Germany, France, and Switzerland for 17 days. Everything is included in the fee except for lunch, drinks, and souvenirs. The problem is it is $4,000, which I would have to make up by next summer. I am willing to work for all of it by getting a full-time job in the summer and working after school. I am 16. The other problem is that my mom thinks that I should go, especially since I have a serious lung disease and my not ever be able to experience this again, since I may not live as long as most people. It has been my dream to visit Europe, and my family is not the type that will take a vacation outside the country. Although my mom supports me as long as I work for it, my dad doesn't. How could I persuade him to let me go? He is just really concerned about paying for college, and doesn't see it reasonable to pay to go to Europe instead.

I did a trip like that when i was 16 from my school and had a good time plus you get to see and learn about the different countries and cultures. Most people never travel outside there country and experience some where else. For some people it is a once in a life time chance.Your father should see that with your lung disease and your age plus you are going with your school so there will be people from the school keeping an eye on you.Plus it is something you have always wanted to do and my never do it again plus you will be working to help pay for it.As long as you doctor gives you a clean bill of heath to take the trip and you will have no issues i don't see why he will not let you go.I went to the same countries plus Belgium.Since then i have gone back to Europe but to England,Ireland,Scotland and Switzerland and i am 44 now.So it kinda is a one in a lifetime chance.I hope you are able to get your father to let you go.Best of luck.

If this is for real then you need to discuss the situation with your bishop. With love in Christ.

What eye-sore would you put on this list

What eye-sore would you put on this list?
Personally, I'm shocked that Soldier Field here in Chicago, IL USA is not on the list... What they did to that stadium is despicable... What eye-sore do you think should have made the list? Travel Picks: 10 top ugly buildings and monuments http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081114/lf_nm_life/us_travel_picks_ugly#full 1. Boston City Hall; Boston, Massachusetts While it was hip for it's time, this concrete structure now gets routinely criticized for its dreary facade and incongruity with the rest of the city's more genteel architecture. Luckily, it's very close to more aesthetically pleasing attractions. 2. Montparnasse Tower; Paris, France While it's almost universally agreed that this ominous stick is a blight on the landscape of the world's most stunning city, its detractors admit that there is one very good reason to take in the view from the building's observation deck: it's the only place you can go to get a view of the city without it. 3. LuckyShoe Monument; Tuuri, Finland It may be over-the-top, but there is something to be said for the giant, golden horseshoe that looms over Finland's second-largest shopping center. The shoe, and, in fact, the entire town in which it is situated, is said to bring good luck. 4. Metropolitan Cathedral; Liverpool, England The people who work here must be sick of the space capsule jokes. Even those who find the building's shell a bit "spacey," have to admit the circular interior is pretty spectacular. 5. Port Authority Bus Terminal; New York City, New York Those who pass by this iron monstrosity might be tempted to ask about a completion date, but alas, this is the finished product. 6. Torres de Colon; Madrid, Spain Like a set of giant salt-and-pepper shakers, these matching towers loom over the city to the dissatisfaction of many area residents. The buildings are also known as "El Enchufe" or "The Plug" for the plug-like structure that holds them together. 7. Liechtenstein Museum of Fine Arts; Vaduz, Liechtenstein Some feel the building's minimalist box design is a triumph, others say it's an eyesore. 8. Scottish Parliament Building; Edinburgh, Scotland Stone, oak, and bamboo are part of the make-up of the Scottish Parliament, a building that is the subject of much debate. 9. Birmingham Central Library; Birmingham, England One look and it's easy to see how this genre of architecture came to be known as the "Brutalist" style. Not surprisingly, the issue of its possible demolition has been looming for years. 10. Peter the Great Statue; Moscow, Russia Some 15 stories high, the larger-than-life monument was designed by controversial artist, Zurab K. Tsereteli, whose statue of Christopher Columbus was repeatedly rejected by the United States.

Your mom!

I'm with you...I just read that article and was like..."where is the UFO that crashed on Soldier Field". The totally ruined that stadium...I'm getting used to it though, I don't live downtown, but go there frequently and I am getting used to it.

The Mosque of Abu l-Haggag at Luxor temple in Egypt. It's literally been called a cancer.

I live in Scotland and I agree the parliament building is grotesque. I'd have settled for straightforward classical architecture and it would have been a tenth of the cost.

Hussien Obama

Heinz Field, without a doubt. I live in Pittsburgh, and I don't think these pics come anywhere near to conveying how truly hideous it is when you actually see it. It puts the U in ugly. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=heinz%20field&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea. 'Nuff said.
8 :
I'd say "Unconditional Surrender" in San Diego, CA. It has got to be one of the worst cases of kitsch posing as "art" that I have ever seen. http://www.navy.mil/search/display.asp?story_id=27774

I agree 100% that it should be the renovated Soldier Field in Chicago. It looks like a spaceship landed on the rubbles of the lake shore. The renovation was halfway decent on the inside, but a poor job on the outside.

Lots of us are against homosexuality, but do not hate homosexuals. Frightening that any nations would sanction by exclusion the extrajudicial, summary execution of anyone. Exception is terrorists, of course.

this is infidel world vs muslim world with china voting against just because it is against any kind of human rights in general and Russia on the other side just because its anti US
